I recently bought an eyeCam 808 (keychaincam 808 style) camera; HD version 720p for 29.99€ with amazon (I bought the last one with the seller I used). The intent is to put it on a mini rocket (toy rocket with one or two stages) to send in small altitudes in the air. Here a picture of what it looks like.
The device works well. video 1280×720 @ 30 FPS with a good quality (and with sound). Pictures up to 4032×3024 pixels.
My version is called “Premium HD” on the cover of the user manual.
But the user manual is provided only in german, and with no instructions it is very difficult to make it working properly. So I made english and french translations of the user manual here:

The problem for now is that the webarchiver doesn’t download zip files. But thanks to it we have the right url to donawload and the builder’s website interface is off but zip file is available at the previous url.

I achieved final look for the modules. I realized the sticker set in french and english. Printed in color on a sticker paper and with additional 3D printing for the Gateway Traveler logo.

Lithium ion Battery pack for Gateway 3DS Traveler 2.0:
The Lithium battery pack module prototype is achieved!
The prototype was adapted with cutting tools and 3D model modified for a future print so that all will fit welll with no need of adaptation. This prototype is a tool to calibrate a finalized model, but works fine. Switch is on the side, so that the casing closes.
It fits a 3DS XL casing with the Gateway traveler and the 3DS XL casing can close with the 3DS XL inside! If you plan to put it in a 3DS classic casing, it will not fit, unless you use only the 3xAAA battery pack, suited either for a 3DS casing or a 3DS XL casing.

3D printer has been received as a kit 10 days ago and today it is operational for the first printing. The first test of casing in production is shown in the video here
There will be many settings and adaptations for a finished casing, this is only the first test; but we approach the final times of this project and the release is for soon( maybe two or three weeks).

PCB has been designed and is being realised for the release version for customer. 3D model of casing adapted to the module has been finished, with the module concept integrated (you can plug a 3xAAA battery pack or a rechargable Li ion battery pack or something else clipsed to the gateway traveler module in the new conceptn with another special casing. Actual rechafrge of 3Ds has been done with the 3xAAA module pack and gateway system and it works (but not for a long time with AAA battery, only emergencies; you can use the feature for complete rechafrging with Li ion pack battery).
Only ONE potential customer wrote me an email as being potentially interested in the product. So I bought the material to design only 10 units because no interest manifested and I don’t want to waste my money with material that will fill my desk only. Prices won’t be the less possible since less possible was if I orderd material for 20 unit to furnishers.
Estimated selling price around 25€ for a unit assembled with the material I bought including the 3xAAA casing to be clipsed on the module casing (only 3xAAA version for the first release).
New prototype version 2.0 of Gateway 3DS traveler, slim and conceived as a module version. You can plug your battery module pack (rechargeable or not battery pack) to it and power it.
Price for my actual prototype is 33.50€ ($37.3) with no plastic box (only assembled module + 2 x AAA case holder with switch), price includes all pieces and assembly work time (I estimate 1 hour for assembly when trained, since it took me 4 hours to do it for the first time with all problem I had to solve in the mechanical).
I can have quantity pricing if I order the pieces to my furnishers to assemble more than 20 modules (a price is also possible for 10 pieces, but lowest price with 20 units or more, any more). Then the price for the same prototype assembled with AAA battery holder is 18.50€ ($20.6).
So I ask to any potential customer to write me an email if you are interested in buying a unit because I won’t order pieces for 20 unit to assemble if there is not at least 20 customer interested. If you want a good price, there must be enough customers. I will give you the information of the lower price possible depending on how many customer wrote me an email for a potential interest in buying (this is only for a potential interest to buy not an order)
A battery lithium ion optional module replacing AAA is possible, for replacement of AAA holder (this lithium ion module has a full security electronic to protect against overcharging, underdischarge, overcurrent limitation, micro-USB connector for charging and LED indicators of charge and discharge, 2000mAh capacity).
There is a plastic box design in progress so that a “in the box, ready to use” version will be available for selling.
I don’t know the exact price for the box (printed with a 3D printer) for now because the exact volume of the box because there is some modifications to the actual model but for now it is estimated to 7€ ($7.80) for the two boxes: both module box and battery box including plastic, micro-sized nuts and bolts (costs as much as the plastic of the box!) and electric use and a little fee for 3DS printer intensive use.
